Sex vs Gender

Not that kind of sex.

What is sex? The one I am talking about is probably not what you are thinking about.

Well I am not always the best at explaining things so I am going to let google handle that. Googling the word sex this is not going to end well. Don't do this at home kids.

That is the definition of sex. Now let's do the definition of gender "Either of the two sexes (male and female), especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones. The term is also used more broadly to denote a range of identities that do not correspond to established ideas of male and female." Just by looking at the defintion you can tell they are two different things.

What is Gender?

Gender is used to refer the identity of a person. Gender can talk about the way someone express themselves and can be different than their sex, male, female, non-binary, or it could match with their sex given at birth. If you are questioning your gender identity or just want learn why people are trans read on.

By now you should know the answer.#yeah When it comes to sex and gender it can matter because of forms and understanding why people are transgender. When filling out a form it best to go by the rule if it asks for your sex put your sex given at birth, but if it asks for you gender put your gender.

Remember when you say that someone can't be a certain gender because of what is between their legs that is wrong. Because gender is not determined by sexual organs. The whole bringing up someone's sexual organs is a whole other issue. Check out What No to Say or Ask Someone who is Transgender. I have my personal beliefs and so do everyone else. If you want someone to respect you personal beliefs you must do the same even if you don't agree with. I am not saying that you should preach hate and nothing should ever get violent, but as long as everything is legal and safe it should be fine. If you still are confused here is an example. My gender is female, but my sex is male so I identify as female, but I was born with male sexual organs. My gender is different from my sex because in the womb my brain developed differently than what my chromosomes are.

Just like sex and gender are two different things sexuality and gender are two different things. Someone who is a trans female that is lesbian is not a straight male or gay trans guy is not a straight girl. Just like cis guys and girls can be gay trans "guys, gals, and non-binary pals" can be gay. People are trans because their brains match up with the gender they identify as. Just because someone is transgender doesn't mean they can't check other boxes in the lgbtq+. If someone is gay and trans it doesn't make them any less whatever there gender is. When assume that someone isn't the gender they say they are just because they like the same gender than you never saw them as they are to begin with. Everyone has the right to be who they are.
