Which bathroom to use?

When you first come out as transgender you come into the situation of bathrooms. Whether it is public bathrooms, school restroom, or your workplace restrooms.

Let's Talk About Bathrooms

Using the bathroom. You would think it's such a normal thing. It's something we do every day, but it can be challenging for kids to use the bathroom. This is not because of any serious medical condition where they can't use it. They can't use the bathroom because they are being denied. In schools and workplaces across World, transgender students workers, and people in general are being denied the right to use the bathroom of their corresponding gender identity. If you are trans how do you deal with this so you can use the restroom. Some places offer an extra gender-neutral bathroom for anyone to use. In school the gender-neutral bathroom is usually located in the nurse's office and any student can use it. Having gender-neutral bathrooms not gender specific bathroom can be a solution to the problem of forcing people into the bathroom corresponding to their given sex at birth. Some people think that this is a great solution, but that we should create a separate gender-neutral bathroom and have all transgender people use a third bathroom. While a gender-neutral bathroom is important and will include some of the transgender community we still go into the territory of segregation. Forcing someone to use a different bathroom then you because they are not like you. When you are transgender it is already hard to deal with some people, but not being allowed something as simple as a bathroom because of how you live your life can make you feel terrible. Some people might not like transgender people and might not agree or like how they identify, but they can not control how someone lives their life.

When you are transgender some things you can do is look up your state, country, county policy when it comes to transgender student and workers. Sometimes you can be surprised. If you live somewhere it is illegal to use the bathroom that is not you sex given at birth I suggest you look into ways to fight the law, but do not suggest you break the law. I feel this is ridiculous because if you are someone who does pass then how will they know. If you don't pass and there is no law against it I suggest you asking someone what the policy is on the bathrooms. Whether it is at a restaurant and asking a server or a school and asking you guidance counselor. If you are trans and do get hired that is definitely one of the first questions you want to ask your boss. The world isn't always fair and kind, but by doing things the right way and showing that there is another way we can change the world. If are allowed to use the bathroom and someone clocks you and freaks out just be kind and say you are allowed to use the restroom if they continue just leave and come back later because it is not worth it dealing with people like them.

You do what you can do and if you have no other option and really don't want to use the bathroom they are forcing you to use hold it until you get home. This can be dangerous and cause bladder infections. If you are using the bathroom go with someone just in case or have your phone are you because it can be dangerous. Do whatever you can to avoid a fight and if you feel uncomfortable leave at once. I know this sucks, but at them moment you have to deal with it. If you want change start a movement talk with the people in charge spread awareness, and do whatever you can to make it better for the next generation. f this has helped you out don't forget to comment and like down below.
